About us

At Retino, we build post-purchase care software trusted by more than 2,000 online stores. Companies like 4camping, Grizly, Knihy Dobrovský, Sconto Nábytek, and many others rely on us. This area of e-commerce is technically demanding and, at the same time, critical for the shift of retail into the online world. Our products are used daily by hundreds of thousands of customers.

We're not a startup searching for direction. We have 9 years on the market behind us, steady growth, and a clear vision. We've processed over 3 million returns and cover 26% of all shipments in Czech e-commerce. We're a profitable company — runway isn't something we worry about. We've also earned the trust of investors like Jiří Hlavenka (Kiwi.com) and Martin Rozhoň (Vivantis), who invested millions of crowns into Retino at the very beginning and are still with us today.

In Central Europe, we're among the leaders, and our solution is now used by online stores in more than 20 countries. But our ambitions reach further — we want to build a product with global impact. And to do that, we're looking for people who want to be part of it.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for a full-stack developer — mid-level or senior — someone who can take a project, break it down, see it through to the end, and take ownership of the result. In this role, you won't be directly managing anyone, but you'll be in charge of things whose success genuinely matters.

We're technologically conservative — we don't like complexity. It's the only way to keep moving forward without drowning in maintenance. And we run a zero-bullshit culture: if something makes sense, we do it.

We're not asking for a mile-long CV. We'd rather meet people with real passion and a desire to be exceptional at what they do.

Specifically, we'd welcome you if:

  • you have the drive and motivation to keep moving forward;
  • you have hands-on experience developing web applications in production — ideally across the entire product lifecycle;
  • you can move across the stack (Python — Django, React, AWS) and aren't afraid to get your hands dirty with infrastructure;
  • you think strongly in terms of architecture — you have a deep feel for system design, you recognize when to refactor and when to leave things alone, when to abstract and when to duplicate, and you can take responsibility for your decisions;
  • you make the most of Claude Code / AI tools, but you know that taste, design, and code review still have to stay with you;
  • you see things through to the end and take ownership of them;
  • you have strong analytical thinking — you can not only solve problems but also name and structure them correctly;
  • you speak Czech or English.
03

Tech stack & tools

We don't expect you to be an expert in everything we use. But here's an overview of what you'll be diving into.

Tech stack

  • Backend in Python / Django Framework
  • Frontend in React + HTML + htmx
  • Infrastructure on AWS

Collaboration tools

  • GitLab for code management and work tracking
  • Slack for daily communication
  • Notion for internal documentation and planning
04

What you'll do

  • Develop features in Retino Returns and Retino Tracking — from the API all the way to the user interface (frontend, backend, infrastructure — all of it together).
  • Build integrations with e-commerce platforms (Shoptet, Shopify, WooCommerce, and others) and carriers (Packeta, GLS, PPL, DPD, DHL).
  • Iterate quickly — get new features to customers in hours or days, not months.
  • Polish performance, stability, and code quality. We work at volumes where the details matter.
  • Collaborate directly with the support team and with customers.
  • Bring your own ideas for how to improve both the product and our processes. Ideas really do get heard here.
05

What We Offer

  • Working in a team of exceptionally capable people who are a pleasure to work with on a personal level too.
  • A zero-bullshit culture. No process ceremonies, no office politics. If something makes sense, we do it.
  • Real impact — your work will be seen by thousands of e-shops and millions of their customers.
  • Fair financial compensation matching your seniority and your contribution.
  • AI integrated into real development. You'll work alongside people who are at the very edge of how development can be done today — over 90% of the code is written by Claude, and you focus on what AI can't do: design, architecture, taste, review.
  • Room to grow — we invest in both training and tools.
  • A beautiful office in the center of Prague next to Masaryčka station — available, not mandatory.
  • Two of us in the company are pilots. If aviation interests you, you'll fit right in — we occasionally take clients and colleagues up in the plane.
  • Events that actually make sense — Retino Hangár, team offsites outside Prague, barbecues with colleagues and people from the e-commerce world.
06

Hiring process

  • We'll get back to you within a few days of your application and have a short call by phone or video.
  • Next comes a technical interview with Kryštof (Head of Engineering).
  • We'll meet in our office in the center of Prague to make sure there's a good personal fit too.
  • If both sides feel it's a match, we shake on it.

We won't drag you through months of interviews. We make decisions quickly and take care to keep the process fair to both sides.
